JUNE 30, 2010 : MANGROVE PLANTING ACTIVITY AT BAGAN LALANG, SEPANG, SELANGOR

Mangroves forests are homes to unique species of flora and faunas. They also protect the coastal areas from erosion and storm surge, especially during hurricanes and tsunamis.

Expansion of agricultural, development of coastal industries and aquaculture lead to destruction of mangrove swamps which affected our ecosystem. Realising this, DENSO Malaysia's CSR Committee took a step forward in organising the mangrove planting activity at Bagan Lalang in Sepang, Selangor on 30th June 2010, participated by 40 associates of DENSO Malaysia.

Besides attending a briefing on the importance of mangrove towards our ecosystem, the participants also took part in preparing mangrove seedling and beach clean up activity.
